FROM THE WILL JOURNAL

From the Will Leather Goods Archive…

With spring training underway, we felt the time was right to feature Will’s 1953 Spalding “Trapper” Model 1331 First Baseman’s glove in this week’s post From the Will Leather Goods’ Archive…

Will has owned this glove since he was a boy – a gift from his father who purchased the glove befittingly in Cooperstown, NY; home of the baseball Hall of Fame.

Supple yet strong, the durable nature of the cowhide used on the gloves of yesteryear is commonly referred to today in the leather goods industry as BBG leather (short for baseball glove, of course).

At Will, we “keep an eye to the past” as we begin every design project –  and with our Spalding Trapper, we have a beautiful reminder of our American past…

*note: From the Will Leather Goods Archive… is a weekly series featuring leather goods collected over the years by Will Adler, founder and creative director of Will Leather Goods
