What We Carry Around with Us…
During the month of March, sunshine is rare in Eugene, Oregon. So as the clouds broke today and the sky opened up, we took the opportunity to step outside and shoot the photos for our latest Will Leather Goods Blog Series – What We Carry Around with Us… We’ve named this post after our slogan, “Inspiration is our bag, it’s what we carry around with us” – a statement Will Adler penned which we return to constantly as we design and develop each product.
As we begin this series, we will feature the bags and contents of our Will Leather Goods staff, friends and family… but we hope you will join us by sending in your own photos. Each month, we will choose our favorite submission and feature the photos on our blog. We will also offer a prize – an exclusive Will Product chosen in house. I was glad to be chosen as our first candidate for this series. As a designer/developer for the Will team, I’m lucky to be charged with the task of wear testing all of our products. I’ve been using our black Signature Utility Waxed Canvas and Leather Tote for the past six months; I was very excited to see how the Martexin Waxed canvas would break in and am more than pleased with the result. The natural shrunken, veg tan leather is softening nicely, and overall, the bag has easily endured six months of hard wear and global travels.
As for what I’m carrying around with me, Will products abound: I use three of our Signature Canvas and Leather pouches: the tobacco pouch carries my Canon S95 and charger (camera is absent in photo since it was being used for the shot!); the indigo pouch holds all of my sketching tools; and the yellow pouch holds exclusive Will hangtags we are hand-crafting for Brooklyn retailer Smith & Butler (more to come in a later blog post). My 17″ macbook pro is securely carried in our Hank Laptop Case; my business cards are well kept in our cognac Custer wallet; and my keys are always hooked up and ready to go with our Wren Keychain.
