SAFARI MAGAZINE PHOTOSHOOT IN TOKYO

The adventures continue here in Tokyo for team Will.  We’ve been non-stop busy hopping around Shibuya, Shinjuku and Daikanyama. Our Found collection is especially popular here and it’s amazing to see our goods so far away from our humble home of Eugene, Oregon.  Our highlight of the day involved a photo shoot of CEO William Adler for Safari Magazine as part of a running feature that they’re doing on William Adler and Will Leather Goods.  William felt right at home in front of the camera, of course.  Special thanks to Mai Miyajima and the entire Safari Magazine team on location for the shoot!

Julian Schnabel with Liverpool

Of the many filmmakers, actors and artists we mingled with in NYC there was perhaps no-one more eclectically talented than the one and only Julian Schnabel.  Here at Will we love not only his films, but also his canvas masterpieces.  The way he re-appropriates objects and art such as plates and polaroids into his work is not only genius, but also inspiring.  We feel a kinship with his process and our ever-evolving found collection.

When bumping into him in NYC we thought his bright pink Vans went especially well with our Liverpool bag in Hopper.

Video we found of Julian Schnabel talking about his process when working with found polaroids.

Michael Cera sharing a laugh with William Adler

Life, Rhymes and Rapaport

We had a great time talking with Michael Rapaport last week at the Will Leather Lounge.  His enthusiasm for both Will and the Tribeca Film Festival was truly inspiring.  After sitting down for a video interview and walking off with a Lennon backpack, he made sure to invite us all to the premier of his film, “Beats, Rhymes & Life:  The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest.”  We attended and thought it was without a doubt one of the most entertaining documentaries we’d seen in years.  Great to see him at the premier with his family members and also Phife from Tribe.  Watch out for the young Rapaports world!
