FOUND Collection

Will discovered these vintage Kantha quilts during a trip to India and fell in love with their colorful patterns and intricate, expressive details. India is a special place for Will: he traveled there when he was a teenager to study with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and has gone back often to seek new inspiration, connecting with the country’s spirituality and artistic spirit. Made from delicate raw silk, these rugs were hand-sewn from embroidered saris. Seen as works of art, they were used to enliven the home to welcome family and special guests. Today, we’ve revived these pieces as beautiful everyday totes, lined with luxurious leather trim and braided leather handles. The tote is completely reversible, with a contrast color quilt on the other side, allowing for versatility. Side buttons allow the bag to be pulled in and snap closed at the center, holding your belongings securely – and stylishly – in place.

Coffee Sack Collection

The cultivation and trade of coffee has existed long before machines and technology. During the production boom of coffee in the mid-19th century, mules and hemp coffee sacks were the sole means of transport. These sturdy sacks were made to survive 300-pound loads and strenuous journeys, thereby proving to be an ideal material for our Will Leather Goods Coffee Sack Mini Backpack. Belt-weight, vegetable-tanned leather trim and double-riveted straps make this bag as study as it is unique.

Oaxacan Collection

After Zapotec hand weaving was introduced to the Indians by the Spanish and Pueblos, the vegetable dyed Oaxacan wool rug was born. Weavers used natural elements, including berries, moss, tree bark and larvae to achieve the vibrant, varied colors seen throughout the rugs. To ensure each piece in the Oaxacan Rug Collection has the proper function to compliment their form, we have added leather panels to all stress points; ensuring that the weight of your contents always rest on the leather and not on the rug. Using the same vegetable dyed leather and steadfast construction methods of our Signature Canvas and Leather Collection, we take 159 steps on the factory line to perfect each piece before it reaches your hands.

U.S. Postal bag Collection

Our U.S. Postal bags range from 1950-1970, each piece being field-tested by postmen of their respective eras. Naturally, we relish these bags for their timeworn good looks, but we are more impressed by their reinforcement: the placement of rivets, pattern of stitching, quality of thread and seam allowance – all of the details that allowed these actual bags to withstand the test of time, carrying upwards of 80 pounds of mail every day, year after year…

Dhurrie Rug Collection

Discovered in the hills of New Mexico, William Adler transported these 75-year-old rugs back to his leather workshop in California where he developed a line of Dhurrie messengers, totes and mason bags. The heartiness of the Dhurrie rug has stood the test of time. Hand-loomed with thick vegetable-dyed cotton yarn, Will Leather Goods has repurposed these rugs into a once in a lifetime discovery.

To ensure each piece in the Oaxacan Rug Collection has the proper function to compliment their form, we have added leather panels to all stress points, ensuring that the weight of your contents always rest on the leather and not on the rug. Using the same vegetable-dyed leather and steadfast construction methods of our Signature Canvas and Leather Collection, we take 159 steps on the factory line to perfect each piece before it reaches your hands.
